"Sun Gold Box"  This is the stuff, with beautiful grain and just the right smidgen of green mixed into brown on the one side of the vase. Just like the other vase made of Sun Gold (Vase # 2) this vase was difficult to carve do to the hardness of the alabaster. I used  several coats of linseed oil to bring out the natural color of the stone, then I sealed it with the same kind of sealer used on kitchenware items such as cutting boards and salad bowls.

The walls of the vase measure 5/8" thick.
